Overview
This document applies to thermally toughened round sight glass panes made of borosilicate glass with a thickness of at least 6,5 mm, which are subjected to permanent or cyclic stress from one-sided liquid or gas pressure at temperatures up to 280 °C without limitation in the low temperature range. When used within the scope of the Pressure Equipment Directive (Directive 2014/68/EU), these sight glass panes are to be considered components of the pressure equipment. The area of application of the sight glass is within the area of application of the pressure equipment. Sight glasses according to this document are suitable for use with hydrogen. This is independent of the respective aggregate state of the hydrogen.
