Electromechanical elementary relays - Part 1: General and safety requirements (IEC 61810-1:2015); German version EN 61810-1:2015

Title (German)

Elektromechanische Elementarrelais - Teil 1: Allgemeine und Sicherheitsanforderungen (IEC 61810-1:2015); Deutsche Fassung EN 61810-1:2015

Overview

This standard specifies the basic safety-related and functional requirements for electromechanical elementary relays (non-specified time all-or-nothing relays) for incorporation into low voltage equipment (circuits up to 1 000 V alternate current or 1 500 V direct current). In case the application of a relay determines additional requirements exceeding those specified in this standard, the relay should be assessed in line with this application in accordance with the relevant standards. The principal changes from the previous edition concern the inclusion of test method B, which takes the specific requirements of the North American market into account. The responsible committee is DKE/K 671 "Schaltrelais" ("Relays") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
