Thermal insulation products for buildings - Factory made wood fibre (WF) products - Specification; German version EN 13171:2012+A1:2015

Title (German)

Wärmedämmstoffe für Gebäude - Werkmäßig hergestellte Produkte aus Holzfasern (WF) - Spezifikation; Deutsche Fassung EN 13171:2012+A1:2015

Overview

This document (EN 13171:2012+A1:2015) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 88 "Thermal insulating materials and products", the secretariat of which is held by DIN (Germany). This document includes Amendment 1 approved by CEN on 2014-12-15. This Amendment contains those clauses of the standard which are needed for the compliance of the European Standard with the Construction Products Regulation (CPR). This document is part of a package of interrelated standards for the specification of factory made thermal insulation products. This European Standard specifies the requirements for factory made wood fibre (WF) products, with or without facings or coatings, which are used for the thermal insulation of buildings. The products are manufactured in the form of rolls, batts, felts, boards or slabs. This standard includes multi-layered thermal insulation wood fibre products. The instructions of Annex C shall be followed. Products covered by this standard are also used in prefabricated thermal insulation systems and composite panels. The properties of systems incorporating these products are not covered. This standard describes product characteristics and includes procedures and specifications for testing, evaluation of conformity, marking and labelling. This standard does not specify the required level of a given property to be achieved by a product to demonstrate fitness for purpose in a particular application. The classes and levels required for a given application are to be found in regulations or non-conflicting standards. Products with a declared thermal resistance lower than 0,20 m2 K/W or a declared thermal conductivity greater than 0,070 W/(m·K) at 10 °C are not covered by this standard. This standard does not cover in situ insulation products and products intended to be used for the insulation of building equipment and industrial installations. This standard differs from DIN EN 13171:2013-03 as follows: a) an addition in the Foreword; b) an addition in 3.2 "Symbols, units and abbreviated terms"; c) a new Subclause 4.3.15 "Release of dangerous substances" has been added; d) Clause 7 "Assessment and Verification of the Constancy of Performance (AVCP)" has been revised; e) Clause 8 "Marking and labelling" has been modified; f) Annex B "Product type determination (PTD) and factory production control (FPC)" has been modified; g) a new Annex ZA. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 005-56-60 AA "Wärmedämmstoffe (Spiegelausschuss zu CEN/TC 88 und WG 1 bis 9, WG 12 bis 21, ISO/TC 61/SC 10, ISO/TC 163 (teilweise), ISO/TC 163/SC 1 und SC 3)" ("Thermal insulating materials (Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 88 and WG 1 to 9, WG 12 to 21, ISO/TC 61/SC 10, ISO/TC 163 (partly), ISO/TC 163/SC 1 and SC 3)") at DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering (NABau).
