Overview

This European Standard specifies requirements for cast iron globe valves in straight, angle or oblique pattern with flanged or threaded end connections. This standard is applicable to cast iron globe valves mainly used for industrial and general purpose applications. However, it can also be used for other applications provided the requirements of the relevant performance standards are met. This document has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 69 "Industrial valves", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR. The responsible German Committee is NA 003-01-03 AA "Ventile" ("Valves") of the Valves Standards Committee (NAA). This document will supersede EN 13789:2002. This document has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of EU Directive 97/23/EC.
