EnEaS – Fourth Interactive Conference on Standardization Teaching 2027

24.+ 25. Feb 2027 live in Berlin

What is Behind the Name EnEaS?

The name EnEaS – short for Enabling Education about Standardization – is inspired by the ancient hero Aeneas, a figure who stands for a pioneering spirit, the courage to make new starts, and the creation of new foundations.

Even in ancient Greece, the foundation was laid for what we call standardization today: when the master builders of antiquity erected great temples, they quickly realized that the construction industry was hardly conceivable without standards. To efficiently quarry, transport, and precisely stack huge stone blocks, the dimensions and formats of the stones were standardized.

Today, we face new, global construction projects: digitalization, the circular economy, and sustainable transformation. Here, too, standardization is the shared foundation – and EnEaS focuses precisely on imparting this knowledge!

Standardization – Your Tool for Co-Creation

Beyond the application of individual standards, standardization is the collaborative process of how standards are developed. Didn't know that? You are not alone.

Standardization:

  • Is a civil-society system, not a state-run one

  • Enables you (and your students, learners, colleagues, members, etc.) to contribute your own interests

  • Shapes crucial future fields so that digitalization, the circular economy, and other key topics can succeed

  • Has rarely been taught until now

We invite you to pass on this vital knowledge.

This event takes place in cooperation with the European research project EDU4Standards, which is dedicated to promoting standardization knowledge in education. Learn more at: https://edu4standards.eu/.

The project is also organized in cooperation with the High-Level Forum (HLF) on European Standardization. Learn more at: High Level Forum on Standardization.
