Industry 4.0

In its "High-Tech Strategy", the German Federal Government has declared Industry 4.0 to be a "project for the future". The aim is to bring ICT, automation and production technologies even closer together. A special emphasis is placed on automation, which is being used to establish a new production environment with shorter product cycles and new forms of customer-integrated business models. This new form of networking requires an unprecedented integration of systems that can only be realized on the basis of standards and specifications. Standards and specifications are of vital importance to the success of Industry 4.0. By implementing these new concepts and technologies into practice, Germany will enhance its position as a leading manufacturing nation and as a global leader for Industry 4.0.
