DIN standards committee technology of materials

About NWT

The DIN Standards Committee Technology of Materials is responsible for the standardization in the field of powder metallurgy, heat treatment technology and laser technology on the national (DIN), European (CEN) and international level (ISO). The scope for powder metallurgy includes the standardization of terms and definitions, material characteristics, material treatment, material machining and the corresponding test methods needed for powder, sinter metals and hard metals. The scope of heat treatment technology includes the standardization of terms and definitions, heat treatment methods, test methods and the requirements concerning heat treatment equipment and heat treatment means. In the field of laser engineering mostly testing standards and process standards are developed. The Scope of Additive Manufacturing (AM) includes Standardization of processes, terms and definitions, process chains (Hard- and Software), test procedures, quality parameters, supply agreements and their general principles.
