Inland navigation vessels - Small floating working machines - Requirements and test methods (ISO 20650:2025)
Abstract
This is an adoption of ISO 20650, Inland navigation vessels - Small floating working machines - Requirements and test methods. The aim of the new standard is to create a uniform construction regulation for small floating working machines with a max. length of 10 m and a max. displacement of 30m³. The small floating working machines are selfpropelled, are equipped with one or more temporarily or permanently installed working tools and are used to perform work in and on smaller waterways. Examples include maintenance of narrow waterways or lakes. ISO 1914 workboats may only be used to transport people or smaller loads over short distances. Therefore, ISO 1914 cannot be applied to boats with temporarily or permanently installed working equipment. Uniform requirements on construction and testing will lead to a consistently high safety level and increased comparability, thus reducing costs.
