Road operation machinery - Safety - Requirements and test criteria for intermediate post mowers
Abstract
This document is applicable to inter-post mowers (i.e. grass cutters) that are attached or mounted on carrier vehicles (e.g. tractor, truck) according to DIN EN 17106-4:2022-04 or that are self-propelled machines. For mobile machinery which is a combination of a mounted inter-post mower and a carrier vehicle, this part of the standard deals with the relevant health and safety requirements of Annex I of the Machinery Directive associated with the mounted inter-post mower itself and those arising from other risks associated only with the combination of the mounted inter-post mower and the carrier vehicle (e.g. interfaces between the attachment and the carrier vehicle, stability or stability, visibility). For machines that are a combination of an attached intermediate post mower and a carrier vehicle in accordance with DIN EN 17106-4:2022-04, this part of the standard does not apply to the carrier vehicle itself, which is subject to other European regulations. For self-propelled machines, this part is only applicable to the health and safety requirements of the mounted inter-post mower itself and does not cover the self-propelled machine itself, which is covered by EN 17106 1:2022-04.
