Postalische Dienstleistungen - Digitale Freimachungsvermerke - Anwendungen, Sicherheit und Gestaltung; Deutsche Fassung EN 14615:2017

Overview

Current Postmarks include information such as postage value, date of posting and equipment identification, but this information is not readily machine readable. Due to growing demands on the effectiveness of the transmission of postal information, it is necessary to digitize the process; that is, to initiate a transition from letterpress to digital printing. Digital printing offers the opportunity to encode critical data in the form of digital postage marks (DPMs). Before adopting or introducing digital printing technology, a comprehensive analysis is necessary to examine, among other things, the advantages of its introduction and the need for other security measures. A number of different factors need to be taken into consideration in the design process for digital postage marks, and these are addressed and described in this document. This document has three main objectives. On the one hand, it acts as a standard procedure for the design of digital postage marks and, on the other, it serves as a guideline to support the creation of national standards for digital postage marks. In addition, this document also acts as a cross-reference to other standards and documents that deal with digital postage applications.
