The Advisory Group on Concepts and Terminology operates under the direction of SC 27 to address issues with concepts and terminology across Working Groups (WGs), especially where they can affect directly or indirectly multiple WGs. AG CT can make recommendations to SC 27 and to WGs to this effect.

This includes:

  • Defining what types of terminological issue are to be addressed by the AG CT, reflecting the needs of SC27 and the evolving nature of concept and terminology work;
  • Identifying and prioritising terminology issues within existing and emerging projects for attention;
  • Utilising existing standards and standing documents relating to the development and management of concepts and terminology as input into resolution processes and advice;
  • Establishing appropriate repositories (new or reusing) for supporting the progress, recommendations and updating of documents;
  • Coordination with SC 27 WGs and dissemination of AG CT work;
  • Providing concept and terminology advice, help and guidance to SC 27 WG Management, project editors and rapporteurs.
