Properties of wood species - Density, modulus of elasticity and strength
Abstract
This Standard includes characteristic values of the density, bending modulus of elasticity and certain strength parameters determined on small sound samples conditioned at standard atmosphere and serves to compare different wood species. The characteristic strength and elasticity values are not directly applicable to structural timber, to that see DIN EN 388. Shrinkage and swelling dimensions see DIN 68100. Natural durability and treatability see DIN EN 350-2, symbols see DIN EN 13556.
