Methods for predicting the frictional torque of rolling bearings; Text in German and English

Abstract

This document presents various methods used in rolling bearing technology to estimate the frictional torque of rolling bearings. The influencing factors and effects considered in these methods, as well as their application limitations, are discussed to enable interpretation and comparison of the results. This document deals with the prediction of the frictional torque of individual rolling bearings. This document does not apply to calculation of friction losses for entire systems, such as a complete gearbox. The appendix to this document provides examples of typical procedures for measuring the frictional torque of rolling bearings, illustrating the capabilities and limitations of the individual testing concepts.
