DIN 16284
Nipple connections for pressure gauges and their accessories
Nippelverbindungen für Druckmessgeräte und deren Zubehör
Overview
DIN 16284 is part of the series of standards for accessories for mechanical pressure gauges. This document applies to nipple connections used to connect pressure gauges with connections featuring pipe threads G 1/4 B or G 1/2 B according to DIN EN 837-1 or metric thread M20 × 1,5 according to DIN 13-6 to shut-off devices, measuring lines, or other accessories. Dimensions, materials, and design (including threads) are specified. Nipple connections in accordance with this document are applicable, depending on the material of the upstream pressure device, at a nominal pressure (PN) (corresponding to the maximum allowable pressure PS in bar at room temperature) of 250 for brass or 400 for steel or stainless steel and a maximum allowable temperature (TS) of 120 °C. This document does not specify flat gaskets; DIN EN 837-1 applies to these. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 152-04-01 AA "Mechanische Druck- und Temperaturmessgeräte" ("Mechanical gauges for pressure and temperature") at DIN Standards Committee Technical Fundamentals (NATG).
