Overview

This standard specifies requirements for serial hybrid electrically power assisted cycles (SH-EPAC). The aim is to provide a standard for the evaluation of serial hybrid electrically power assisted cycles that are excluded from type approval under Regulation (EU) No. 168/2013. This standard focuses on the design-specific characteristics of the serial hybrid drive for use in urban areas and for trekking. This document been prepared by Working Group NA 112-06-01-04 AK "Serielle Hybride für Fahrräder" ("Serial hybrids for cycles") at DIN Standards Committee Sports Equipment (NASport).
