Camping tents
The working committee NA 112-02-01 AA "Camping tents" of the Sports Equipment Standards Committee is responsible for the standardisation of tents used on vacation and in recreational activities. Under this category fall camping tents, awnings for leisure accommodation vehicles and fabrics for tents. Important aspects of the standardisation of camping tents are e. g. determination of terms, requirements for safety of construction and of anchorage, fabrics characteristics, resistance to roof load and rain resistance, fire precautions especially means of escape etc. Germany also holds the secretariat of the international working group ISO/TC 83/SC 2 "Camping tents" and nominates its convenor. Delegates of this committee represent the German interests in standardisation on international level.
