Overview
This standard is a basic standard for connectors and plugs. This generic standard is applicable in combination with the detail standard to electrical connectors (COC) and plug-and-socket devices (CBC). The generic standard specifies the general requirements and provisions. It contains statements relating to unchanging technical requirements and test conditions, namely properties and provisions that apply to the respective components as well as general procedures, matters of liability, patent law, etcetera. The detail standard specifies the specific technical requirements and tests applicable to the respective components. Subcommittee NA 140-00-14-01 UA "Steckverbinder und Steckvorrichtungen" ("Electrical connectors and plug-and-socket devices") at DIN Standards Committee Electrical Engineering (NE) is responsible for this standard.
