Overview
This document deals with the safety of electric motor-operated hand-held spray guns for non-flammable materials. Apart from the requirements for general test conditions for hand-held spray guns, this document also describes requirements with regard to labeling and instructions for use, heating, durability, required performance levels, mechanical hazards, mechanical strength, and construction. This document applies exclusively to hand-held spray guns for non-flammable materials. The standard differs from DIN EN 50580 (VDE 0740-2-7):2014-06 as follows: a) the content of EN 50580 has been transferred to the IEC level, incorporated into Part 1 of IEC 62841, and adapted to its structure. This document serves manufacturers and users in the development and testing of hand-held spray guns.
