Overview
The scope of this standard, together with IEC 61851-23, applies to digital communication between a DC EV supply equipment and an electric road vehicle (EV) for control of conductive DC power transfer, with a rated supply voltage up to 1000 V AC or up to 1500 V DC and a rated output voltage up to 1500 V DC. In this case charging mode 4 in accordance with IEC 61581-23 shall be used as the charging mode for the electric vehicle. The standard is limited solely to the conditions described in its scope. A typical scope of application for this document is communication between the DC power supply unit for electric vehicles and an electric road vehicle (EV) with the exchange of information regarding the current and voltage values requested by the electric vehicle, as well as software versions and other information.
