Abstract
DIN EN 12309-2 is part of the EN 12309 series, Gas-fired sorption appliances for heating and/or cooling with a net heat input not exceeding 70 kW. This part of the series specifies the safety requirements, safety test conditions and safety test methods for gas-fired sorption cooling appliances, gas-fired sorption cooling/heating appliances and gas-fired sorption heat pumps. DIN EN 12309-2 applies only to appliances: 1) for which the water temperature does not exceed 105 °C during normal operation; 2) for which the maximum operating pressure in the water circuit does not exceed 6 bar; 3) of types B12, B13, B22, B23, C12, C13, C32, C33 and C63; 4) for outdoor installations, including type A appliances. This document does not contain specific requirements for surface temperatures of external parts, particularly those applicable to children and elderly persons.
