Gas-fired endothermic engine driven heat pumps - Part 2: Safety; German version EN 16905-2:2026

Abstract

This part of EN 16905 specifies the safety requirements, safety test conditions and safety test procedures for gas-fired endothermic engine-driven heat pumps for heating and/or cooling operation, including engine heat recovery, intended for outdoor use. It covers single-split and multi-split systems and applies exclusively to GEHP systems with a maximum heat input of 70 kW (based on the net calorific value) under standard rating conditions. This document does not cover gas-fired endothermic engine-driven heat pumps whose condenser is cooled by air and by evaporation of additional water on the outside surface. This standard is intended to be used in conjunction with all other parts of the DIN EN 16905 series. Compared with the previous edition, editorial and technical modifications have been introduced.
