Overview
This document establishes minimum requirements for the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of smoke alarms in accordance with DIN EN 14604 in residential buildings, apartments, and rooms used for residential purposes. Smoke alarms may be operated individually, networked with one another, and/or connected to a warning system. This document does not apply to fire detection or alarm systems required by special building regulations or building permit procedures. This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 031-02-05 AA "Rauchwarnmelder" "Smoke detectors" at DIN Standards Committee Firefighting and Fire Protection (FNFW).
