Quality requirements for live‑in care
Abstract
This document specifies quality requirements for the organization, placement and provision of live‑in care. For the purposes of this document, live‑in care refers to a form of support in which a caregiver generally lives in the household of a person in need of support and provides care services there over a contractually defined period. The aim of this document is to ensure transparency and quality for all parties involved. It defines minimum requirements for: - caregivers within the framework of live‑in care - intermediaries - service providers - the design of the assignment in the home environment This document serves to protect the parties involved, to provide clarity regarding roles and responsibilities, and to regulate information obligations concerning the legal framework. This document is applicable to all forms of live‑in care, in particular: - posting of workers - employment in Germany or abroad by private individuals or companies - self‑employment This document does not cover: - residential (inpatient) care - non‑residential (outpatient) care and support in which the care or support staff generally do not live in the household of the person in need of support - treatment care in the sense of medically prescribed measures This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 159‑08‑04 AA “Live‑in care” of the DIN DIN Standards Committee Services.
