DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering

Overview

This standard specifies the essential characteristics of a natural smoke and heat exhaust ventilator (NSHEV) for which the manufacturer shall specify a technical value and - depending on the installation position specified by the manufacturer (installation in roofs or in walls) - specifies the minimum values to be complied with for the respective essential characteristics. The essential characteristics and their abbreviations are defined in DIN EN 12101-2; verification of the essential characteristics is regulated by Annex ZA of DIN EN 12101-2. However, a blanket agreement of this standard, for example in the client's contract with an architect or specialist planner, does not replace sufficient object-related planning services.
