DIN Standards Committee Road Vehicles and Mobility

Overview

This document EN ISO 14823-1:2024 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 204 "Intelligent Transport Systems" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 278 "Intelligent transport systems" the secretariat of which is held by NEN (Netherlands). The responsible national standardization committee is Joint Working Committee NA 052-00-71 GA "Gemeinschaftsarbeitsausschuss NAAutomobil/DKE: Intelligente Verkehrssysteme" ("Joint working committee NAAutomobil/DKE: Intelligent Transport Systems") at DIN Standards Committee Road Vehicles and Mobility (NAAutomobil). This document defines a graphic data dictionary. It has been developed with the aim of establishing a common basis for the transmission of graphic information that is independent of language or regional differences and can be encoded and understood by users such as traffic control centers, traffic information centers, or service providers. The creation of uniform graphic data improves the user's understanding of graphic information and thus user-friendliness. The document supports IVS applications such as the display of traffic signs or other information in the vehicle.
