Overview
This standardization mandate is related to the EC type-approval procedure for motor vehicles covered by Directives 2007/46/EC, 2002/24/EC and 2003/37/EC, and in particular to the conditions for access to maintenance and repair information by independent operators. The objective of European Commission mandate M/421 is to develop a standard or series of standards specifying the requirements for the provision of standardized access to repair and maintenance (RMI) for independent operators. This part of the standard covers standardized access to repair and maintenance information for mopeds and motorcycles, as well as quads and other smaller vehicles with three or four wheels under EU Regulation 168/2013. This part of the standard contains information derived from European legislative requirements related to repair and maintenance information and related safety requirements.
