Road vehicles - Automation of the wiring-harness production
Abstract
This document gives guidelines to increase the level of automation in automotive wiring-harness production. These guidelines are mainly provided in the form of design guidelines. To increase the degree of automation, the requirements and specifications of the design guidelines, which are defined as rules, must be fulfilled during the wiring-harness development and wiring-harness production. With compliance to the design guidelines and with automated production, recommendations are made for an adapted quality inspection. This document provides design guidelines for wiring harnesses and their components as well as for the wiring harness structure. This document provides requirements for the digital data describing the product and gives guidelines for the implementation of the requirements for applied data formats.
