State of railway vehicles - Running gear - Part 6: Pneumatic suspension system
Abstract
The documents in the complete works "Zustand der Eisenbahnfahrzeuge (en: Condition of Railway Vehicles)" contain technical specifications for safety-related systems and components of railway vehicles that require monitoring. These documents define the limit state for the safe operation of railway vehicles and their components. They are to be applied if the vehicles are operated on public railway infrastructure. The minimum requirements for processes to maintain the target condition of railway vehicles set out in this document must also be applied. In addition, these documents must also be taken into account in new designs if design measures are required to ensure compliance with the operating limit criteria. The applicability of the standards of the complete works to railway vehicles of other track gauges and their components must be checked in each individual case. This document applies to air suspension systems. The specifications set out in this standard refer to air suspension systems and, where applicable, their — individual parts, documentation, and supplements; — air-conducting and air-control components; — additional volumes; — display devices. This standard applies mutatis mutandis to designs that deviate from the specified versions.
