DIN Standards Committee Laboratory Devices and Installations

Overview

This document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 055-03-06 AA "Laborthermostate, Laborbäder, Wärmeschränke und Brutschränke" "Laboratory circulators, laboratory baths, heating ovens and incubators" at DIN Standards Committee Laboratory Devices and Installations (FNLa). This document specifies definitions, classification, and marking, as well as test methods for determining performance characteristics for the following equipment: a) laboratory thermostats, b) laboratory baths, c) heating and refrigerated circulators, d) cooling thermostats, e) circulating coolers, f) immersion coolers. This document applies to the equipment listed in a) through f) that is operated with heat transfer fluids. The performance characteristics determined in accordance with this document are characteristic values for the equipment that provide comparable statements with regard to the performance of the respective equipment. The performance characteristics and terms determined are specified in operating instructions, data sheets, technical literature, and brochures. Safety requirements for the products specified in the scope of application are addressed in the DIN EN 61010 (VDE 0411) series of standards. This document does not apply to, among other things, block thermostats, hot plates, and sand baths.
