Pressure resistant circular sight glasses of borosilicate glass without limitation in the range of low temperature
Abstract
This document is applicable to thermally prestressed circular sightglass plates of borosilicate glas with a thickness of at least 5 mm. These may be permanently stressed by liquid or gas pressure acting on one side at temperatures up to 280 °C. Under special conditions, use up to 300 °C is possible, see 5.3.2. There is no temperature limit below ambient temperature for round sightglass discs according to this document. Use up to the pressure and temperature limits specified is only possible if clause 11 is observed. When used within the scope of the Pressure Equipment Directive (Directive2014/68/EU), these sightglass discs are to be regarded as a component of the pressure equipment. The area of application of the sightglass disc must be within the area of application of the pressure equipment.
