Overview
This document specifies requirements for fasteners and bonded products that are not regulated as construction products in harmonized European standards. It also covers geometry and material specifications as well as the execution, factory production control, initial testing, and third-party monitoring of bonded elements that are not regulated in Europe. This includes the following described in this standard - bonded composite components made of glued laminated timber, unless regulated in DIN EN 14080; - bonded ribbed or box elements with ribs and planking made of glued laminated timber, laminated veneer lumber, or cross-laminated timber; - bonded panel elements planked on one or both sides, differentiated according to wall, ceiling, and roof elements; and - prefabricated products with bonded reinforcements, shafts, connections, and reinforcements with bonded steel rods. The document also contains explanations on repairs using bonding and crack filling. The standard contains regulations for verifying the suitability of bonding for load-bearing timber components and for repairing load-bearing timber components using adhesives. It also contains explanations on the manufacture and use of bonded bending members with narrow webs and multi-part spread webs with bonded intermediate or connecting members. This document is only valid in conjunction with DIN EN 1995-1-1:2010-12 with DIN EN 1995-1-1/A2:2014-07 and DIN EN 1995-1-1/NA:2013-08 and, where applicable, DIN EN 1995-2:2010-12 + E DIN EN 1995-2/NA:2018-09. This standard applies only to types of construction and products made from components for which at least the performance characteristics specified in Annex E are declared. This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 005-04-01 AA "Holzbau (SpA zu CEN/TC 124, CEN/TC 250/SC 5)" ("Timber structures (national mirror committee for CEN/TC 124, CEN/TC 250/SC 5)") at DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering (NABau).
