Overview
This document specifies the PSRs (Product Specific Rules) for wires and cables for use in communications, data systems, and control and instrumentation applications. These PSRs cover the application, installation and end-of-life phases and provide methodological precision for describing the PEP/PCR for products for use in communications technology, data technology and control engineering. PSR and general rules all together form the product category rules. This specification applies primarily to environmental officers and/or product managers, corporate LCA experts, and assessors. The responsible committee is DKE/K 412 "Kommunikationskabel (Kabel, Leitungen, Wellenleiter, Lichtwellenleiter, Komponenten, Zubehör und Anlagentechnik für die Nachrichten- und Informationsübertragung" ("Communication cables (cables, conductors, waveguides, fibre optic cables, components, accessories and systems technology for communication and data transmission") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
