Overview
This part of IEC 61754 defines the standard interface dimensions for the type FC-PC family of connectors. Fiber-optic connectors and other elements of the optical transmission path are precision components whose performance is critical to their functionality. Test requirements are published in the DIN EN IEC 61300 series of standards. The requirements for performance are specified in the DIN EN IEC 61753 series of standards. It specifies electrical, mechanical, and environmental test values, rated values, or characteristics. For this a reference is provided to the relevant IEC standard in addition to the values for the corresponding parameter. There are no restrictions on the scope of application of this document. The standard differs from DIN EN 61754-13:2006-11 as follows: a) revising normative reference reflecting the latest documents; b) addition of intermateability in 5.2; c) changes of dimensions of the plug connector interface in Table 2 and Table 3; d) addition of Grade Am, Bm and Cm in Table 3. Application of this document enables manufacturers and users to increase their investment security, while it provides testing laboratories and manufacturers with specific information for testing and ensures compatibility across manufacturers.
