Overview
The principal aim is to specify standardized measurement procedures and data analysis techniques for evaluating the A-weighted sound pressure level or other acoustic properties of wind energy generation systems at representative remote field locations. Acoustic measurements are complicated by wind, either directly (wind-induced microphone noise) or indirectly (noise from surrounding vegetation). Other sources of ambient noise, such as aircraft, trains, road traffic, or industrial/agricultural activities, as well as meteorological conditions, have an impact on the measurement results. This document can be used by regulators, authorities, measuring laboratories, developers, operators, and manufacturers for: - comparison with local regulations; - comparison with warranty values; - decision-making support in the absence of regulations; - evaluation of acoustic parameters and sound levels.
