Overview
This part of IEC 61558 deals with the safety of control transformers and power supply units incorporating control transformers, such as their electrical, thermal, and mechanical safety. This part applies to stationary or portable, air-cooled (convection or forced), single-phase or multi-phase control transformers, even when incorporated into equipment, with a rated supply voltage not exceeding 1 000 V AC, a rated supply frequency and internal operating frequency not exceeding 500 Hz. This standard does not apply to transformers according to IEC 600076-11.
