Overview
This document specifies performance requirements for type tests for cable accessories for use on impregnated paper insulated power cables as specified in HD 621. Accessories for special applications such as submarine cables, ships cables or hazardous situations (explosive environments, fire resistant cables or seismic conditions) are not included. The standard differs from DIN VDE 0278-629-2 (VDE 0278-629-2):2009-07 as follows: a) all requirements for transition sleeves have been transferred from Part 2 of the standard to the new Part 3 of the standard series; b) update of normative references; c) complete editorial revision. Typical applications for this document are indoor and outdoor sealing ends, connecting sleeves, branch-off sleeves, and end sleeves of any type. As well as shielded or unshielded plug-in or screw-on cable connections whose feed-through contours comply with the standards EN 50180 and EN 50181.
