Rotating electrical machines - Part 25: AC electrical machines used in power drive systems - Application guide (IEC/TS 60034-25:2022); German version CLC IEC/TS 60034-25:2024

Title (German)

Drehende elektrische Maschinen - Teil 25: Wechselstrommaschinen zur Verwendung in Antriebssystemen - Anwendungsleitfaden (IEC/TS 60034-25:2022); Deutsche Fassung CLC IEC/TS 60034-25:2024

Overview

The scope of this document includes, among other things, a description of the performance characteristics of AC electrical machines for use on converter supplies. It also specifies the interface parameters and interactions between the electrical machine and the converter including installation guidance as part of a power drive system. Among other things, this document covers the requirements for the design of electrical machines. The following topics are also considered: - parameters of electrical machines for adapting the converter; - test conditions and measurement methods for determining the sound power level; - determination and limit values of vibration intensity; - design of electrical machines for low, medium, and high voltage. The scope of this document includes the following limitations: The voltage at the power supply interface described in IEC 61800-8 is not specified here. Reference is also made here only to the general requirements of the relevant parts of the IEC 60034 series of standards. In addition, additional requirements for possible use in explosive atmospheres can be found in the IEC 60079 or IEC 61241 series of standards. The standard differs from, DIN VDE 0530-25 (VDE 0530-25):2018-12 as follows: a) the definitions of a converter-compatible motor and a converter-operated motor have been added; b) Clause 18 has been amended to include the expectations for the operating behavior of a converter-compatible motor; c) Clause 8 has been amended to update the clause on shaft currents; d) Annex D has been added to define the requirements for power reduction. Typical examples of application include design features for converter-fed electrical machines, including installation. Although this specification is not primarily focused on safety aspects, some recommendations may have an impact on safety and should therefore be taken into account where appropriate.
