Overview
This document corrects the following: In Clause 6, "Selection of ASDUs from IEC 60870-5-101 and additional ASDUs", the following text is deleted from the second paragraph of the NOTE: ", 100, 101, 103, 105, 107, 110-113". The IEC 60870-5-104 document enables devices and systems from different manufacturers to communicate with each other without any fundamental adaptation developments, as it provides general transmission protocols. The use of IEC 60870-5-104 as a station or field bus enables direct communication between individual devices. IEC 60870-5-104 has become widely used, particularly in Europe and Asia. Industrial components are recommended for IEC 60870-5-104 communication in switchgear, although commercially available network components such as routers can generally be used. IEC 60870-5-104 enables communication via networks (LAN and WAN) using TCP/IP, while IEC 60870-5-101 establishes connections via serial interfaces.
