Overview
This document applies for the planning and installation of high-voltage overhead electrical lines with hybrid AC/DC systems, one or more AC circuits are in parallel with one or more DC circuits in close vicinity. It also applies for the planning and installation of DC high-voltage overhead electrical lines. In this document high-voltage overhead lines are defined as AC circuits with a maximum operating voltage above 123 kV and DC circuits with a maximum operating voltage above 245 kV. The configuration of the DC circuit (for example, monopole, bipole) shall be taken into account, particularly when dimensioning the neutral conductor. The standard differs from DIN VDE V 0210-9 (VDE V 0210-9):2018-03 as follows: a) Chapters 3.1 Terms and 3.2 Symbols new; b) Chapter 5.1.3.2 Reduction factor for internal clearances new; c) Chapter 5.2.3: Recommendation of the BPA method for calculating corona noise. Presentation of the EPRI method in Annex E; d) Chapter 5.2.3: Definition of weather-related noise; e) Chapter 5.2.4: Extensive revision of the chapter; f) Chapter 5.3.2.3: Distinction between capacitive coupling with underground infrastructure and above-ground infrastructure; g) Chapter 5.5: Extensive revision of the chapter and deletion of the contents from Annex D Overview of perceptibility thresholds and permissible touch voltages; h) Annex A: Calculation of the required clearances based on the maximum operating voltages of 420 and/or 550 kV; i) Annex D (formerly Annex E): Superposition of radio interference levels from AC/DC systems completely revised.
