Blitzschutzsystembauteile (LPSC) - Teil 4: Anforderungen an Leitungshalter (IEC 62561-4:2023); Deutsche Fassung EN IEC 62561-4:2023
Overview
This part of IEC 62561 deals with requirements and tests for lightning protection system components (LPSC), and in particular cable supports used in the installation of lightning protection systems (LPS) designed and constructed in accordance with IEC 62305 (all parts). This part of IEC 62561 deals with the requirements and tests for metallic and non-metallic conductor supports used to secure and support air terminals, down conductors, and earthing systems. This document does not deal with the fixing of conductor supports to the shell of buildings due to the huge number and types used in modern construction. If a metallic conductor support is used to connect two metallic parts of the external lightning protection system (LPS), it becomes a connecting component and shall meet the test requirements of IEC 62561-1. The standard differs from DIN EN 62561-4 (VDE 0185-561-4): 2018-05 as follows: a) adaptation to the current edition of IEC 60068-2-52:2017 with regard to salt spray treatment; b) adaptation to the new edition of ISO 22479:2019 with regard to treatment in a humid sulfurous atmosphere; c) addition of a new normative annex for the applicability of previous tests. A conductor support is a metallic or non-metallic component or composite component that is installed at fixed intervals along the length of conductors, down conductors, and earthing systems to secure and support them. It shall perform its function of clamping the conductor in an acceptable and safe manner, even when exposed to mechanical influences, lightning discharge stresses, and environmental influences.
