Overview

This document is applicable to control devices for control by digital signals of electronic lighting equipment. This part contains general requirements for control devices. This second edition of IEC 62386-103 is intended for use in conjunction with IEC 62386-101 and the various parts of the IEC 62386-3x series of standards for particular requirements for control devices and can be used in conjunction with IEC 62386-103 for control gear. There are no restrictions on the scope of application in this standard. The standard differs from DIN EN 62386-103 (VDE 0712-0-103):2020-04 as follows: a) the scope has been updated; b) quiescent mode has been updated; c) non-volatile memory (NVM) save time has been added, and SAVE PERSISTENT VARIABLES command removed; d) memory bank 0 has been modified, and common memory bank requirements have been added; e) IDENTIFY DEVICE has been updated; f) version number has been changed; g) information on the configuration of bus units has been updated; h) instance types and configuration have been added. This document supports the design, construction, and programming of control devices with digital interfaces for integration into a DALI bus system for lighting control.
