Overview
The purpose of this part of IEC 61300 is to ensure that the captivation or the attachment of the cable to the fibre optic devices or components, for example fibre optic closures, will withstand compressive axial loads likely to be applied during normal service. There are no restrictions on the scope of application of the document. The standard differs from DIN EN 61300-2-11:2013-06 as follows: a) Clause "Terms" added; b) test sharpness table for sleeves deleted; c) recommended test sharpness for pipes and cables without tension/support elements added. The application of this standard increases investment security for manufacturers and users, provides testing laboratories and manufacturers with defined test specifications, and ensures compatibility across manufacturers.
