Overview
This part of the IEC 60838-2 series of standards applies to holders of double-capped linear LED lamps designed for installation (for use in general lighting) and covers the necessary tests for mechanical and electrical safety requirements. Holders within the scope of this standard do not take thermal management into account. The standard differs from DIN EN 60838-2-3 (VDE 0616-7):2017-10 as follows: a) requirements for GJ6.6 lamp holders have been added, including permissible tolerances, protection against electric shock during insertion, required contact establishment and contact force, and a reference to the applicable data sheets from DIN EN 60061-3. Due to their design the lamp holders described in this part of IEC 60838-2 are used for double-capped linear LED lamps.
