Overview
This part of IEC 62150 specifies a generic mezzanine board system to support test and measurement of devices based on micro-optical and micro-photonic technologies, including but not limited to photonic integrated circuit (PIC) devices. The standard describes the mechanical requirements for the product and the critical dimensions. There are no restrictions on the scope of application of the document. The standard increases investment security for manufacturers and users through its application, provides testing laboratories and manufacturers with defined specifications for testing, and ensures compatibility across manufacturers. In addition, the Annex lists the projects currently active in the development of international cooperation in research and development.
