Overview
This document contains the dimensional, optical, mechanical and environmental requirements that an assembled single-mode cable with connectors with cylindrical ferrules shall meet in order to be classified as an EN standard product. Since different variants and performance classes are permitted, details on product labeling are given in 4.5 and Clause 5. Dimensions and several test methods are listed that refer to existing IEC standards. There are no restrictions in the scope of the document. The standard differs from DIN EN 50377-14-1:2019-09 as follows: a) inclusion of new connector types in Clause 5 "Variants". The standard increases investment security for manufacturers and users through its application and provides test laboratories and manufacturers with defined specifications for testing and ensures compatibility across manufacturer boundaries.
