Overview
Used for the standardized representation of requirements of the process control engineering (PCE) and data exchange between P&ID and PCE tools. Contains tags for measuring points. The efficient design of process plants requires highly developed tools for the various workflows and disciplines. These engineering tools are usually specialized for process design (PD), instrumentation design (PCE, process control engineering) and the like. Interoperability is therefore essential to optimize the entire design process. Defining a uniform interface and data management is therefore a core task to ensure a smooth process throughout the entire project and to ensure the consistency of data in the different tools. This standard defines procedures and specifications for the exchange of PCE-relevant data provided by the R&I tool. The basic requirements of change management are described. To this end, a generally valid technology for exchanging information between systems, the Extensible Markup Language (XML), is used. This provides a general basis for the integration and exchange of data. However, the definition of a uniform semantics is necessary for this. CAEX (Computer Aided Engineering eXchange) is, according to the definition in this document, a suitable data format for this purpose. This concept of data exchange is open to various applications. The responsible committee is DKE/K 941 "Engineering" ("Engineering") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
