Overview
This part of the DIN EN 61010 (VDE 0411) series of standards relates to refrigerating equipment and all testing, measuring, control, regulating or laboratory devices that contain a refrigerant condensation system or other cooling system as part of the overall device. The scope of this Part 2 includes remote and embedded cooling systems provided that the appliance directly controls the cooling system. This Part 2 aims to ensure that the design and construction of refrigerating equipment provide adequate protection against certain hazards for users, bystanders, trained service personnel and the surrounding areas from the specific hazards that may be presented by refrigerated systems. The responsible committee is DKE/K 913 "Sicherheitsanforderungen an typische Geräte, Einrichtungen und Systeme für Labor und Unterricht" ("Safety requirements for typical apparatus, equipment and systems for laboratory and teaching purposes") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
