Overview
The DIN EN 61800-7 series describes profiles for power drive systems (PDS) and their mapping to existing communication systems by use of a generic interface model. This part of DIN EN 61800-7 describes the profile type 2 (CIP Motion) for PDS. Profile type 2 can be mapped onto different communication network technologies. The functions specified in this standard are not intended to ensure functional safety. The responsible committee is DKE/K 226 "Ausrüstung von Starkstromgeräten und -anlagen mit elektronischen Betriebsmitteln" ("High voltage current equipment and systems with electronic equipment") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
