Overview
This part of IEC 62386 specifies a bus system for control by digital signals of electronic lighting equipment. This electronic lighting equipment should be in line with the requirements of IEC 61347. The IEC 62386 series of standards consists of various parts that are assigned to different series. The 1xx series comprises the basic specifications. Part 101 contains general requirements for the system components, Part 102 extends this information with general requirements for operating devices and Part 103 extends the general requirements to control devices. The parts of the 2xx series provide the general requirements for control gear with lamps with specific additions (mainly for backward compatibility with Edition 1 of IEC 62386) and with special control gear specifications. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 521.3 "Geräte für Lampen" ("Auxiliaries for lamps") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
