Title (German)

Elektrische Anlagen für Beleuchtung und Befeuerung von Flugplätzen - Sicherheitssekundärkreise in Serienstromkreisen - Allgemeine Sicherheitsfestlegungen (IEC 62870:2015); Deutsche Fassung EN 62870:2015

Overview

This standard addresses general safety specifications in series circuits. The requirements and tests are intended to establish a specification framework for system designers, users, and maintenance personnel to ensure safe and economical application of electrical systems in airfield beaconing systems. This standard complements existing IEC AGL standards and can be used as a design specification. The requirements included are not previously covered by the existing IEC AGL standards. Since there are few effective safety functions for personal protection in series circuit technology, "safety extra-low voltage (SELV)" and "protective extra-low voltage (PELV)" are applied as protective measures and apply to the supply of lamp systems according to this standard. The implementation of SELV/PELV in this manner has been made possible by the introduction of the new lighting technology, which requires a lower current and therefore a lower voltage supply. The responsible committee is DKE/K 229 "Electrical installations for lighting and beaconing of aerodromes" of the DKE German Commission for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies in DIN and VDE.
